Ugly talent? 04/21/2009
 

Everytime I watch the clip of Susan Boyle singing, I get goose bumps.Its un-be-liev-able.She is now a bonafide superstar! In several interviews, she has been asked if she will  do a make over.The 47yr old responds saying "I'm happy the way I am: short and plump," and that while she might consider a "makeover later on," "I would not go in for Botox or anything like that."

Why is her voice not enough?It's not like she needs to make music videos....plus making her a pretty face does not enhance her singing ability.She represents a large segment of our population that is grossly under represented in pop culture.Maybe human beings are just extremely shallow........

You're correct that her voice woudln't be improved by giving her a makeover, however I guess they're thinking for concerts she needs to be spiffed up to look as physically appealing as her voice is...I think, anyway.

Her voice is spectacular!

Well... Guess everything has to be on point these days - the whole point of the current marketing ethos is to sell music as part of a package; hot looks, quick wits or crazy behavior (depending on the genre of music being peddled) and the like..Shallow maybe put fact is that's the new reality..

Yea, as the recession has deepened, the demand for Botox injections have gone up.....so sad.

She certaintly doesnt/didnt need a makeover but I believe that how she eventually ends up looking would be a reflection of how she wants to look herself.
