Even though, the US is experiencing almost 9% unemployment rate, its so easy to focus on that number and forget that a whopping 91% of the country's working population is still gainfully employed.

I read in a recent article that many people find it diffcult to talk about their work day, especially to people who have lost their jobs. Not that I expect people to rub in the fact that they are working, but sometimes its  good to vent.Even those of us that are blessed to be working know that the work environment has changed dramatically. We all have to work more with fewer resources.

Can a working woman no longer discuss her day with her unemployed husband? Can friends no longer frankly talk about what is going on at their workplace?

While one should certainly not feel guilty about having a job or getting a job while others may be losing theirs, I feel that not matter what sensitivity should be strongly emphasized. The fact of the matter is that EVERYONE without a job IS envious of their friends/fam with jobs for the simple reason that they are human beings. As a result, no matter what we can really not be venting, talking frank about day to day happening in our workplace. It is like complaining about waiting in a long queue to get money from the bank to someone who is poor...

First, I'd like to say that I disagree with "Luz" about her statement that EVERYONE without a job IS envious of their friends/fam with job. That statement is not true in my opinion. I ask my friends and family how their day went, how was work and so on...I do not have a job at this time and am enjoying the free time, the little that I do have. I think it's sad that a person can not talk about their day to someone else, but then again you should be respectful of each other's wishes.
Sis, you know I ask how your day went at work...lol! Things happen, and I beleive for a reason.
