We are all looking to earn a living but I feel that education broadens the mind into thinking in new ways.I would rather be educated and living on $60,000/yr than be a CEO, famous actress etc and be stinking rich.It is sometimes hard to have an intelligent discussion with someone with a narrow mind.

PS:I am not insinuating that every college grad is smart and vice versa.

 A lot of people are losing their jobs right now, but it is disproportionately affecting men e.g. manufacturing jobs, Wall Street Bankers.

2. We are better drivers.

A common (and unfair) stereotype abounds that men are better drivers than women. Men are more than twice as likely to be killed in a car accident than women.75% of drivers killed behind the wheel were men. Plus, we get better insurance rates etc.

3. We are more intelligent
While studies show that, on average, men are smarter than women by about 3 to 5 IQ points only because they are taller. Larger bodies make for larger organs, including the brain. When you eliminate that discrepancy, though, women prevail.

4. We make more strategic purchases for the long-term and don't waste money on impulse buys.

According to Joeseph Carrabis of iMedia, men are more likely to look only at a products mechanical functionality when considering a purchase. women, on the other hand, want to know if it also meets their specific needs …a valuable habit in the current economy.

5. We have more fashion choices.
Enough said.

6. We are less likely to die on the job.
The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that construction and transportation/warehousing are the two sectors with the highest number of fatalities, but agriculture and mining have the highest rate of worker deaths. Not a lot of women in those areas.

7. Our budget for booze is less than men's.
For a woman, a single glass of wine can do the job. A man needs a martini (or two) and a glass of wine. With smaller body size comes less body water.

8. We never have to worry about erectile dysfunction.
Enough said

9. We can still be the first.
Men have accomplished a lot but women are celebrated more when they accomplish just a milestone e.g. Kim Ng, first woman to run a MLB team

10. We can figure out how to lose weight.
Men are fat. The number of overweight men is 7% higher than overweight women but there are more diet books out there to support us than men.

In several interviews, she has been asked if she will  do a make over.The 47yr old responds saying "I'm happy the way I am: short and plump," and that while she might consider a "makeover later on," "I would not go in for Botox or anything like that."

Why is her voice not enough?It's not like she needs to make music videos....plus making her a pretty face does not enhance her singing ability.She represents a large segment of our population that is grossly under represented in pop culture.Maybe human beings are just extremely shallow........

Aside from his extensive education and legal experience, he is the nation's first black president!

Are they waiting for the results of the stimulus package?After, much deliberation, they decided to name a scholarship after the president.I think its too little, too late.

I read in a recent article that many people find it diffcult to talk about their work day, especially to people who have lost their jobs. Not that I expect people to rub in the fact that they are working, but sometimes its  good to vent.Even those of us that are blessed to be working know that the work environment has changed dramatically.We all have to work more with fewer resources.

Can a working woman no longer discuss her day with her unemployed husband?Can friends no longer frankly talk about what is going on at their workplace?

What happened to people like The Obama's, Mary J Blige, Geaorge Clooney, Ben Affleck, Salma Hayek, Oprah?Are they too boring?

This a tricky one because if the man asks for it back, he is a dickhead and if the woman wants to keep it, then she is a gold digger.So,what gives? These are my rules for a broken engagement/marriage.Hope none of these apply to anyone reading this message but here it is.

1.If the guy did something VERY BAD and this leads to the broken engagement, then he must not mention the ring.By misbehaving, he has forfeited his claim on that ring.Most women would throw the ring on his head anyway so he can get it back that way.

2. If the guy ends it due to other reasons, say he still doesnt feel ready to commit etc, then he can take the ring back (if this is a family heirloom) but he must provide a gift certificate for at least 50% of the value of the ring valid at any jeweller of her choice.

3.If the woman messes up, she must return the ring.If she bought it, she can keep it

4. If the feeling is mutual, and both contributed to the cost of the ring, they must sell it and split the money equally.

5.If there are children that resulted from the relationship, the woman keeps the ring.PERIOD!......unless the father has custody.In which case, the opposite applies.

I hope I have covered all the possible scenarios (well, except gay marriage and promise rings.)

As the debate over H-1B workers and skilled immigrants intensifies, we are losing sight of one important fact: The U.S. is no longer the only land of opportunity. If we don't want the immigrants who have fueled our innovation and economic growth, they now have options elsewhere. Immigrants are returning home in greater numbers. And new research shows they are returning to enjoy a better quality of life, better career prospects, and the comfort of being close to family and friends.

I recently attended the African Business Conference in DC and was amazed at the opportunities that are available in Africa. Every other person I spoke to was either based there or making plans to do so.This leaves the question, if there are more opportunities in Africa, how many people are willing to go pursue them and if not, what are the hindrances?.
